Missed me?

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. Bannag, I hope you're enjoying your trip. I saw the pictures... they looked good. Sorry I haven't been on in a day or two... it's been crazy over here on my end. Mike & Megan, Work, April and her computer game addiction, falling statues, paying bills, etc. So, with nothing more than work on my mind, I'm gonna plan out my day tomorrow. This seems to be the first page I look at in the mornings so it's become kind of handy... it's like a sticky note with all my friends faces on it. (hehehe) I'm also posting this for the benefit of Scythe and Dan, so they can remember what we have planned for the next day or so. Tonight's Work:
  1. Dan: Call Tim with the specs on the Dell Laptop for his customer if possible. That customer is getting a little twitchy about the wait to get the work done.
  2. Dan: Pack up the Toshiba laptop and take it to the shop on your way into meet Pioneer in the morning. Let Scott know that we agreed on applying Arctic Silver to the CPU and testing to see if that reduces the thermal induction issue we're having with the overheating.
Tuesday Morning: Morning Meeting at the condo at 10:30
  1. Dan: Take that Dell PC to Sunset early AM before you meet with me and Tim at 10:30.
  2. Tommy: (DONE) Call Amy McKeown at VC3 about the Pio job; see about scheduling tech time at 11:30 for onsite support for merging the paging system with the new VOIP Cisco phone system.
  3. Scythe: Call Ken Woolard and check-in with him regarding this equipment replacement. If you're not comfortable with it, let me know and I'll call him... just remind me.
  4. Dan/Scythe:
    1. Go to Pio tomorrow at 11:30 and finish job listed above.
    2. Drop Off Toshiba @ Office
    3. Setup Patsy's Office and Point Files
    4. Setup new Dell Desktop for Moses
    5. Configure Server for new client computers.
  5. Tommy:
    1. Get Bank account and routing information for DD for Payroll.
    2. Process outbound weekend orders for eBay.
    3. (DONE) Call Jason Somers re: COD order.
    4. Process Red Barn order through CCT.
    5. Call Scott and get the Dell rep information for the guy who wants to take over our account.
    6. Get Invoices out to customers for payment.
      1. (DONE) Invoice B&A
      2. (DONE) Invoice DVC
      3. (DONE) Invoice SM
      4. Re-invoice the customers who had returned address information.
      5. Enter Dell payments from Scott into QB.
      6. Call Accountant and initiate direct-deposit on all accounts.
    7. Order USR 8003 from CDW.
    8. (DONE) Get new Dell for Moses setup and process the invoice.
  6. Dan: Start the quote for ICC through Dell.
Wednesday Morning: Dan: 9 AM Meeting with Sprint at DVC
  1. Get keys from Aimee next door.
  2. Install interior demark for DSL,
  3. Install Router
  4. Patch from Switch to P-Panel.
  5. Terminate office 2
  6. Tone test office 2
  7. Don't forget to meet with me or Scott the night before and get the Toner, Cabling, Keystones, and other related materials.
  8. Run the phone number from the Punch Down to the offices of the Sprint tech isn't going to do it.
  9. Call Sable about outsourcing locally to POS customers. Speak to Lupa or Patricia.
Gandalf/Scythe:
  1. Early Morning: Meet and go spec the Omni install at Klein's office.
  2. Go to Lowes' and get hardware.
  3. Begin Hardware install.
Thursday: Tim: Swap IH hardware with ECN hardware if it comes in from supplier. New Projects To Handle: These are the projects that are on the slate that we've been meaning to talk about and get underway with.
  1. Tommy: Call PCC and Edgecombe CC about recruiting part time labor from the Network Technology groups for independent project work.
  2. Make a small flier to pass to small restaurant chains here in town to offer WISP to customers. (WI-FI only, not WI-MAX).
  3. Contact the Pitt County Business Licensing Bureau to see if we can get access to a list of businesses who have applied for new business licenses in a given time period. This would be a good source of leads for install/terminate/drop jobs for part timers and to help float new business requirements.
That's it. That's been my day today... and tomorrow.. and the next day.... and come to think of it, the next day too! Dang! So how is everyone else's week going thus far? I miss you guys... and hope to see you all soon.

Weekend Update

hey everyone, wow, I just realized it has been a week since I posted a blog....I guess I didn't think I had anything worth reporting, but as Gandalf keeps telling me, it is the little stuff that is interesting. I spent most of my week planning for Friday night and trying to a) keep it a secret from Natalie and b) get more people to come. It ended up being just me, nikki, and natalie, but it was worth the planning. After that we went to EC and hung out with some of the scoob's....always a good time. My legs are so sore though! Saturday I did nothing but watch TV and lie in bed, even though I have work piling up around me. But, the weekends are made for procrastination, right? Nikki and I had another girls night last night- we got some taco bell, and some chocolate, and spent the night watching the second season of sex and the city on dvd. It was great. I have to say I hate my neighbors though- some guy was standing outside our door drunk at 2:30 in the morning screaming his bloody head off. Today I spent all day working, and I am actually much closer to being finished with the work I put off all day yesterday. It's been a slow day around here, and not many people have been online to talk to, which I guess is good because it means I have less time to do things like this, and more time to work. Speaking of which, I'd better get back to it. And I'll try to blog more often next week and quit being such a slacker. Hope everyone has a good week. And April, I'm sorry to hear you didn't get that job. It just means there is a better one out there waiting for yo

TWO MORE WEEKS TIL OUR BIG DAY!

Hey Guys Well, we spent all day today doing stuff for the wedding, getting the house together, getting jewlery, last minute decorations etc etc....So, next weekend is the weekend b4 our big day and I am sure that my girl nikki is trying to get a group together to do something. I convinced Thiago that he had to go out since everyone would be expecting us..so whatever we end up doing I would like to request that we do it as a GROUP to celebrate our big day. By the way Agent M...you missed the show last fri...chippendales was hillarious you all (girls I mean) should have been there. Holla!!!

Update on Job Search.....

Ok, so I finally found out that I didn't get the job...... :( I called today to to the Op. Manager (since he was the one who interviewed me), and he didn't call me back. But, one of the guys that I know called me and said that they hired someone else but that if she doesn't work out they would let me know....... right, like that will ever happen. Ok, so not to rain on anyone's parade, since it is FRIDAY and everyone wants to go out, but I really feel like throwing a pity party right now. I REALLY wanted that job, but, oh well, life goes on. On a happier note, for those of you that don't know yet, Lucky's is not opening til next week, the electrician couldn't get in to finish his work, so no inspection, so no liquor license, so no opening. I happen to know the owner (she's a partner with one of my bar owners at another place), so I'll check on more VIP memberships for those interested. So, I guess we'll all end up at Emerald City, dancing the night away like we had originally planned! :) Maybe next weekend we'll go to Lucky's.... If you're interested, I'm working at the OC tomorrow night, and there is supposed to be a band (supposed being the key word here) so come keep me company :) I need all the money I can make! Well, I guess that's all for now, TGIF everyone, and lets PARTY HARDY!!!!

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You? Ok all you nerds out there, I know this quiz will be interesting to you. So, which character are you? I'm dying to find out!

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

This is my character, who are you?

Wow... sorry it's so late.

Hi all. My most sincere apologies for taking to long to get to the blog today. It's been a HELLUVA day... but a good one. It's 12:06 now and I've just finished my work for the day. Check this out: Monday- worked 14 hours, Tuesday- worked 15 hours, Wednesday- worked 15.5 hours. So far I'm at 45.5 hours for the week and it's only Wednesday night. Does this mean I get the rest of the week off? Holy Crap. On the side of progress: What has my tireless efforts reaped for the week? Well, thus far we have completely finished IHOP's wireless Internet access, so you can all go hang out, surf the web free, and munch down on your Rutti Tooti Fresh & Fruity, courtesy of Pingbot and myself and our amazing super-powers! We also landed a new client today that will be 1 days work, but will pay for everyone's payroll for a whole week. That's nice. And after 7 months of being persistent, patient, and downright annoyed, I FINALLY got Ironwood Country Club to come to the negotiating table. They're ready to install their new hardware. So far, I'm 7 out of 8 on closing deals since the beginning of February. I'm feeling mighty high right now about my closing ratio. I'm closing 87.5% of the customers I talk to. That's great in my personal opinion. Usually, a great sales team can close 1 out of 4. We are beating that percentage all to hell and back, which is great. The down side is that I haven't hardly had any time at all with April this week. I've been working since before she gets up, and still at work until about 4 hours after she gets home from work. Needless to say, this weekend is going to be a nice relaxing one away from everything work related. OOH.. I talked to the Secretary of the Coastal Carolina Equestrian Centre this evening. She apparently owns 7 horses that she keeps for trail riding and has more boarded at her stables. She can't get them all ridden each day and keep them worked so I think I'm gonna get some GREAT ride time! She wants the help and I want the riding therapy. There was never a time that I felt better than when I was riding. I think it's truly the biggest passion I've ever had. Believe it or not, I used to get up VOLUNTARILY every day at 4:45 AM to go ride every single morning before work... lol. I never missed a day. You KNOW I've got to love something to get up before 9 AM for it. Anyway, I'll talk to her more as the week goes on and see about setting something up with that. She wants me to ride in the annual ride on the 1st of April. Woohoo! ok... well, now that I've filled in my day, I'll try to find time for more random bloggy things.... I just wanted to fill you all in on what I've been up to. Marisa: I hope your job interview went well. Mourningstar: finally got his home-gym together! *big round of applause* Now, he's gonna be BUFF-TODD instead of BIFF-TADD. Nat and Thiago: Got their marraige license today... I was a "witness".... I mean cheuffeur... lol.. so Contratulations guys. I'm happy for you both. April : Developed a severe blog addiction. I'm trying to think of a good term for the psychosis: Blogaphelia. Me: I got a new phone today. I'm still using the work phone number primarily, but I got a new LG like Agent M's because I friggin hated that other one. I'm giving mine to McFly at work... who will probably reprogram it to operate like a TNG Tri-Corder. ( I bet no one but Gecko and Pingbot get that reference.) OK.. I'm gone for now.. I'm going to go through the rest of the posts and see what I've been missing. Love you all.

Greetings ethersphere...

Howdy. How y'all doin' this mornin? It's amazing how a protien shake can change your whole morning. These things are GOOD! I hope you're all having a good day thus far. I should have a little more time to interact here today hopefully. I figured I'd write and plan my day out on here. That always seems to put my morning in the proper perspective. So here we go. Today's To Do List:
  • Finish this pot if coffee. (In Progress)
  • (Done) Call Bannag and have my morning chat.
  • (Done) Update Turbo Lister and List this week's ads on eBay.
  • (Done) Process eBay sales from last night.
  • (Done) Have Dan go by Insurers Group and re-pitch the proposal to Waighty and hopefully get approval on a scaled down proposal.
  • (Done) Have Pingbot check on the DSL installation update for IHOP and get an ETA.
  • (Done) Make sure Pingbot has ordered the parts for the IHOP wireless install. (Client Bridge, WAP, Router & Switch, etc.)
  • Have Pingbot call George Klein and attempt to setup a time on the COR install at his office.
  • (Done) Have Dan bring me the toolboxes from the job the other day.
  • (Done) Go to Lowes and pickup 2 more toolboxes.
  • Order materials for network jobs from CCT for the new toolboxes.
  • Call the finance lady and check on the status of our in-house financing.
  • Enter the billable information from the mail that scott gave me and find out who still needs to pay us.
  • (Done) Check with Pingbot on the progress at EC neurology, depending on the response from Senao on the WAP issues we had last weekend.
  • (Done) Get the new laptop from the office for Tim.
  • Get McFly on the email lists and get his contact information.
  • Find out if Scott has talked to the accountant like I asked him to about getting Direct Deposit for everyone's checks.
  • Call Logan's and see if they'd like to offer Wireless Internet Access in their bar/front dining section.
Ugh... I'm sure there's more to do, but that's enough to keep me going for 12 hours or so.

Monday, damn I'm glad it's almost over.

Well, this is my third fucking attempt at this tonight. When I first sat down here 3o minutes ago, I was in a great mood. Now I'm just fucking aggravated. We had a LONG day today. I had a great weekend on eBay so that gave me endless hours of bookkeeping entertainment to do today. If anyone is ever looking for an alternative to beating your head against a brick wall for fun, they can try bookkeeping on a monday morning! God. Later on today, I find out that, all total, we haven't accomplished much of shit today. I was busting my balls all day long, and a few others were, but at the end of the day it seems I have to spoon-feed most of the people that I work with or they don't get anything done. Add to that the fact that I went to dinner with a new employee tonight. Scott hired him to run the Dell calls. Little did I know that we had just hired George McFly. I was HOPING to have someone that would help push Scott further towards progress, rather then towards playing games. However, much to my surprise, guess how Scott met him? On that damned game, City of Heroes. Now I have ANOTHER gaming junkie on the payroll. Technically I can't complain because McFly is performance based and paid hourly, not salary, so if I'm paying him, that means he's making me money... so that's good. He may work out to be a great guy... I have to try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I did get to get a huge kick out of the fact that I'm taking this guy to a business dinner with Scott. Now Scott is the biggest miser in the world. He can squeeze blood from a penny! What does this guy order for dinner? The BIGGEST thing on the menu. LMAO. It would be funny if I weren't footing the bill for this. It was ALMOST worth it though to watch this 120 pound guy eat a 22 ounce porterhouse, a WHOLE baked potato, skin and all, a salad, peanuts (in the shell) and THEN gnaw on the bone. He definitely got every dollar out of that steak... It's funny to see a guy half my weight eat more than me.... I thought Scott's eyes were going to pop out of his oversized head. After that, Tim came back with us, then left to go home when April and I went to food lion and blockbuster. Now, it's midnight, all the groceries are put away, the dishwasher is going, and I'm here blogging. Unfortunately, now I have to go work on paying the bills and THEN maybe I'll get around to having some free time. So to those of you who wonder why I'm never free to answer the phone much, today is a good example of why. With the exception of a few minutes this afternoon, I've been working for 15 hours now and I still have at least 1 to go. This sucks! I miss all you guys and hope to see you on here tomorrow. Later for now...

Boredom

So, its raining outside, I am done with classes for a few hours (Have I ever mentioned that I hate the fact I have night class two times a week?), and daytime TV is the same boring shit as per usual. So that leaves me with two choices. Sit here, playing on the blog, or start getting some work done in the two hours I have before my next class. Something tells me I'm going to end up pretending to work more than anything else. Agent M, you around and bored too? I am looking forward to Emerald City, what about everyone else?

JUST A NOTE

Hello All, Just to let everyone know( so that you can start your weekend planning early hehe) we are planning to go to EC on friday since april has to work sat. Since, Nikki, joe, heather, billy, thiago and I all live about a block from EC we will probably meet here to do some pre-game drinking...so if you have never been to my house IM me and I will give you directions (aim natball00) Holllllaaa!!!!

Sunday, Sunday Sunday

Boo! You should'a been payin' attention... that's what you get. Well, it's Sunday afternoon. Ive cleaned the house, drank some coffee, read the new, made lunch, played in Photoshop, burned labels for 16 new DVD movies, and checked my eBay sales for the weekend. Sorry I didn't make it on here much yestarday. It was a busy day. I had to do that job at the hospital at the crack of dawn. I left there JUST in time to take a shower and go to the Movies to see Contantine, then came back here, hung out a little, napped a little, then went to the OC to watch Ed and Justin. Sorry I missed you guys at EC last night, but it wouldn't be very gentlemanly of me to go out clubbing with my ex while my girlfriend is home with the Flu, so I kept my happy little ass right there at the OC and hung out with Todd, Sameena, and Gecko. It was good just to get out and relax away from Breezewood for a change. I love you all and I'll post a little more later. Agent M and Lil'Bit just got here so I'm going to hang out with my wang out for a while.
This one is for you Gecko. LOL... you should print these out and make them your personal business card. This is what I get for having all this free time on Sunday afternoon.

Man, I wish this really worked! :)

For those of you who have someone who just won't get the hint that you're not interested in them......have we got the hotline for you! It's called the Rejection Hotline! You give Mr/Ms Annoying the number and let them listened to a recording telling them to bug off! The article then goes so far as to suggest other uses for the same hotline.................like for the overdue bill collector, telemarketers.......hmm, this could be really funny! Check this out and see what you think!

Morning All

Morning everyone. Agent M, Lil' Bit, Black Jack: Sorry we missed your rodeo last night but I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. I hope to see you guys tonight. We are all going to see Constantine at 4:00 PM. (Meeting at 2:20 at my house) If you guys want to go, Gecko is going to buy advance tickets, so you can call me and get her number. My day is starting slowly: Went to bed at 3, got up at 7:15. It's 8 AM now and April's out like a light... so I thought I'd enjoy the solitude and say good morning to everyone while I down my first cup of coffee... on that thought... let me to get my second cup... brb Nooooow! That's better. Where was I? Oh, yes, indeed; my plans for the day. Tim, Dan and Myself are leaving here at about 8:30 to go to East Carolina Neurology to install the Wireless Access Points to allow their hand-held PDAs to update to a central server in the main building. Hopefully everything will run smooth and we'll be home before lunch. Either way, I'll be back around the house by 2:30 to meet with you guys that are coming. I'm going to take my phone in case someone needs me, but don't call me to chat this morning. I hope to get this job done quick and we're going to be messing with ceiling tiles and insulation all morning. Fun Fun Fun. I hope you enjoyed the pics from last night... I just thought I'd post a few here real quick. I still have a fairly decent update to to the the main photo site but I haven't gotten around to that yet? Agent -M: Did you take pictures last night? Scooby Update: Tim (also known as Scythe on here) has been assigned his permanent nickname... lol. He's "Ping-Bot" Next time you see him... just walk past and mutter "boing" under your breath and keep walkin... lol Ok.. I'm delirious with lack of caffiene. You guys have a good morning. See you all again real soon. Love, D-D-Dash

Feeling my age...(don't laugh)

Ok, so I just had a disturbing thought and I thought I'd share it with everyone, since no one else other than Agent M seems to be posting. I realized, not for the first time today, that I am getting old. My friend Carla had her first baby, a little girl, Monday afternoon (Yes, a Valentine's Day baby!!) and Natalie and Thiago are getting married in about a month, not to mention the fact that one of my best friends got married over the summer. I feel very out of the loop in this little senario...all of the above mentioned ppl except Thiago are younger than me....makes you stop and think for a minute. I'm not saying I want to get married and have babies right now, but it makes me feel like that's what I SHOULD be doing....anyone else ever get those little thoughts that nature is somehow disapointed in you for NOT doing what you are programmed to do? Ok, so that was the Gecko wierd thought of the day. Ponder this for awhile, kids :)

Joke of the Day

Black Jack sent me this; so I thought I'd post it.

Wife 1.0 Operating System

------------------------------------------------------------------------

HELP! - Tech Support

________________________________________

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6 just don't run any more.

I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0,but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help!

Thanks,

Troubled User.

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that men complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program.

Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0.

It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system. Once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this.

Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high Maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean And Sweep 3.0,Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2. However, be very careful how you use these programs.

Improper use will cause the system to launch the program NAG NAG 9.5!

Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software.

I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 !

WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances don't get caught running a dual boot O.S. configuration with Girlfriend 7.0 and Wife 1.0 at the same time....

This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck,

Tech Support

MIS Department

(Gandalf's PS: I wonder if I can purchase Cook & Clean 1.0 separately as an addition to Girlfriend 7.0 without getting the bundled Nag 9.0 program?) hehehe just kidding dear...

Whew! I'm glad thats over!

Well, I'm back to the land of the living......sort of. :) Thank you to everyone who has been asking Tommy about me, I appreciate it more than you know! Just to fill you all in, I didn't have what Little Bit had, the doc thinks I have a virus, so I'll just have to suffer it out.......ugh! However, I think my nausea is related to the fact that everything I took this week had Tylenol in it, and I think my system had just had enough! So no more Tylenol for me for a while!! As for the plans to go out this weekend, I'm not doing anything tonight....I don't want to push my luck anymore than I have too, I'm supposed to go out with Megan tomorrow, but I'll have to wait and see with that one too. And as much as I would love to watch the 500, I have to work Sunday morning and night (am I crazy) so I can't do that either. Looks like I'm gonna be on my own a lot this weekend, but I promise to be back in full swing by next weekend! Thanks again for all your love and support!

TGIF Boys and Girls

Well, Another week has come and gone. To give a brief update: I've got my truck back for good I think! YEAH. (I'm still gonna buy Wess' Jeep... cause I want something that's totally free and clear of the company, but it's good to have wheels again anyway.) April's feeling a little better. She laughed for the first time in 3 days this morning, so that's a good sign. Her humor is back even though the rest of her is still a little under the weather. As far as my weekend plans go, I know a lot of you have been asking, so I'll update you here as best I can. I'm not going to try to make the Rodeo tonight. April's feelin ok right now, but I don't want to be that far from home if she starts feelin bad again, especially with her Jeep acting up. I'm sure we'll do SOMETHING, but I'm not sure what. We can't go to On Cue tonight. April was supposed to work this evening and I called yesterday to have Laura cover her shift. Darryl and Laura would be a little miffed if she couldn't show up for work but decided to show up to hang out instead. So, tonight might be a night full of conversation, board games, beer, or whatever; here at the house for me. I hope those of you who go to the Rodeo enjoy yourselves. I've been to a bunch of them and you ought to have a great time. Friday Night Anyone that want's to just hang out tonight is welcome to, (I've GOT to clean the house first.. I don't want ANYONE seeing my house in the shape it's in today). I'm having a Bannag moment. Saturday Morning Tomorrow I have to go with Tim and Dan to do an install job at the hospital in the morning ,but should be free in plenty of time to see Constantine. You guys want to meet at my house and all leave from here since I'm only about 2 blocks from it? Saturday Night Saturday night I'm not sure what we're doing. I'll probably go to the OC and hear Ed and Justin. They're about my favorite and after this week, I'm not sure that I'll be up to the bangin atmosphere at the EC. I'll play it by ear though. I love you all and want to see you all if you've got the time. (PS: I think we can safely raise the quarantine on my condo. April doesn't have the flu, so I'd imagine whatever it was (sinus infection is my best guess), it's not contagious at this point.) Have fun all... it's back to work for me.

Black Jacks Thought of the Day

Does any one feel that there are angels amoung us to guide us and lead us in a certin directions (or paths if you will). You may never meet them but once and forget them the next minute, or they might have made such an impact that you will never forget. By the way I want no I am going to the rodeo Friday night anyone is welcome togo with me. As for Sat. Night I am game for anything!!! E-City sounds good to me. Sunday is the RACE anybody want to watch at my house? Just let me know.
This is my best friend in the whole world. We don't see each other much but he's most akin to Marcus in his mannerisms, way of speaking, and sense of humor. He's now a full fledged Window Wiper (Air Force) Stagg Sergeant. I'm posting this here so he can see that I still remember him and think of him often.

This particular photo isn't that new, but it's a friend of mine that I wish you could all meet. His name is Jonathan, but I've always called him "Noll".. which is what his dad called him and for some reason it just stuck with me. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, just like he always said he would. I can't wait until our reunion this year, so I can catch up with him.

I decided to post a few of these on here for posterity's sake as I was going through my albums tonight. I took some time to crop the articles and put them in an album before I lost them forever in a jumbled mess. This was Hannah's first real report period since she's been in school. This is the first year they get an A,B, C rating. She made principal's list the first time (which I owe credit to her mom for that one. Michelle was the A-list kid,) AND she made honor roll the second time (which I take full credit for. That's more in my ball-park.) I know this post will be gone in 3 days, moved to the archives like so much else in our lives. But someday, Hannah or I will go through here and take a stroll through memory lane and see it. Then maybe she'll be glad I put it here, or maybe I'll just enjoy the memory of this time of her life. Whichever it is, I hope if she ever reads this that she knows that I love her and I'm proud of her.

Thoughts of a Gecko

I feel inspired to post. But not inspired to a topic. Maybe it's because I am getting sick as well. I don't know if it's what April and Little Bit have, but it's just starting whatever it is. I have been sneezing like crazy for two days! The week has flown by, I can't believe it's almost Friday already, feels like the weekend just ended yesterday! Well, I guess I had better get back to work (or is it hardly working?) Everyone have a great day, and I hope you are feeling better April and Little Bit!

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

IS THE SKY REALLY BLUE, IS THE GRASS REALLY GREEN, IS THE SUN REALLY ORANGE, OR IS IT JUST A PRECONCEIVED NOTION? AND WHO CAME UP WITH IT? I HAD A VERY GOOD DAY UP GOT UP THIS MORNING FEELING GOOD. NOTHING STRESSFUL AT WORK, A REALLY NICE LUNCH, GOOD AFTERNOON AT WORK. AND A TERRIBLE AFTERNOON. BUT I DO NOT FEEL LIKE POSTING IT. BUT THANKS TO A COUPLE OF SCOOBS FOR MAKING ME FEEL BETTER. I LOVE YOU GUYS MEAN IT. WELL GOT TO GO LATER.

Mourningstar Strikes Again

WTKA-AM Mourningstar, Where were you between the hours of Friday at 7 PM and Sunday at 7 PM? This smacks of you... reeks of you.. I KNOW you did it. All in a subtle attempt to practice for your ultimate goal... the complete and total destruction of Michael Jackson! Gandalf

Another reason why Todd shouldn't drink and play with weapons!

ThisisLondon I couldn't resist.

See... my day could have been worse (Click here)

ThisisLondon Bannag, See what would happen! This is one of those threats you're REALLY not supposed to go through with. And I know you're the type to consider this.

Say Hi To Wess!

Just wanted to let everyone know to say hi to Wess. (Norwgn_Biker). I know the authors list is getting a little long so we don't always see the new additions. He and Mourningstar should provide most of the confrontational conversation... lol. I can see it now. The only thing better than this site, is if I could get everyone on it at the same time, drunk.

been away too long

Ok, I have to admit, I haven't been posting much lately. I've been having too much fun reading everything else. I had a great time last weekend and I'm hoping for a repeat this weekend... I won't get into details, but I could use a distraction and a big group thing would do the trick nicely. Everyone who is sick, I hope you all feel better!! Ok, it is late, and I just felt guilty I hadn't been posting lately, so I just wanted to wish everyone a good week. It's half over!

Thursday and Saturday

Hello people! Ok, just to let everyone know, there is a free showing of Swash (a comedy improv group from ECU) at Via Cappuccino thursday. It should be at 8pm (I will repost the definate time later)...and it is great. Nikki's BF joe is in the group. Also, just in case you guys havent kept up on the comments a group of us is going to a Saturday Matinee of Constantine so let us know if you want to go and if there is a best time for you. Natalie

Monday, Bloody Monday

Ugh.. Ack.. ewww...yuck! It's Monday... again. I swear the older I get, the more quickly the weeks seems to pass by. What's on everyone's agenda for today? Here's my day: I'm getting into the habit of posting my day here because it's my homepage, so I see that long endless list every time I open my browser... and it also serves to help me get things done faster so I can play on here. (Isn't that a sick twisted reason to work hard? Just so you can play on your blog?) Just as a matter of note: How many of us have this set to their homepage? I know I do on 2 of the computers. Zeus still goes to my main site for its homepage. I've been seeing that same site on my homepage for about 7 years so it seems sacreligious to change it now. lol.. I feel like my web site is being replaced by a new one.... *pout*... Ok.. anyway, my day: What is Gandalf doing today?

  • Meet with Tim about the Dr. Klein wireless hardware project.
  • Check with Tim on the progress of the Macros for Klein.
  • Return Klein's busted-ass laptop to him and let him fix it himself.
  • Get the office equipment out of my home-office and have it delivered to the shop.
Holy friggin post-it-note Batman! That's a lot of stuff to do in one day. The good news is, I guess, that April works tonight so I can work on through most of the night to get this mess done. I'll be in and out of here all day, like usual, mainly looking to see what new posts there are. I hope you're all having a good day... it seems like I've got a long one ahead. I didn't think I had that much to do until I started writing it down... crap. *poofing into the ether* (Updated at 1:15) (Updated at again 5:05)

My dirty joke of the day... hehehe

A man and his wife were driving home one very cold night when the wife asks her husband to stop the car. There was a baby skunk lying at the side of the road, and she got out to see if it was still alive. It was, and she said to her husband, "It's nearly frozen to death. Can we take it with us, get it warm, and let it go in the morning?" He says, "O.K., Get in the car with it." "Where shall I put it to get it warm?" He says, "Put it in between your legs. Its nice and warm there. "But what about the smell?" "Just hold its nose." The man is expected to recover, but the skunk she used to beat him with died at the scene.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ok, ok, I know so far the general consensus is that Valentine's Day sucks, but there are quite a few of us that disagree. I'm sure at one point in time or another, you have felt the love that V-Day stands for....... I know that I am one of the luckiest people alive! I have found one of the best men in the world that loves me just as much! For the first time in my life I feel a completeness that I've never had.... There has not been a time since we've been together that I've ever felt lonely and unloved. I may not ever be able to express just how deeply I care, but maybe by doing this everyone else will know. Tommy- Before I met you I was just going through the motions of life. Since we've been together I feel that everything in life has taken on more meaning than ever before! I awake each morning to you beside me knowing that you love me more than anything! Sensing that first thing puts a smile on my face that lasts all day long! I love every bit of time we have together, whether its fighting over who has to get up and turn off the alarm, to taking a snuggle break from work just to have a hug and a kiss! I may have been a little worried about the move to Breezewood, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than here with you! You are the very best thing that has ever happened to me, and I don't ever want you to forget it! I love you, baby!!! --As for everyone else-- please know that my life has become much sweeter having the great people that I have in it! From the old Scoobs to the new, you have all been a blessing! I look so forward to getting to know everyone and having many more fun times ahead! Know too that V-Day isn't just for lovers, but for friends too. Oh yeah, just a warning to those that may/may not care: Tommy and I want to cut off all access to the outside world Monday after 5 pm. Natalie and Thiago had their romantic weekend, and we would like just one romantic night! I'm sure y'all can find something of your own to keep you busy! :)

WE"RE BAAACK!!

Hello all, Well, for all those of you who were just dying to know (and I am sure this is everyone hehe)...We had a fabulous time at the beach. This romantic getaway was long over due, so we took advantage of every minute of it. Somehow, in a day and a half we managed to get tons of shopping done, go bowling/play pool, fly a kite, cuddle on the beach, go to a NC aquarium, go to the lost colony and still have time for couple of hours of "other" things that we won’t explicitly mention. We ate dinner last night at this great restaurant, called....well I don’t quite remember the name...something with windmill in it, in Nags Head...but the restaurant was completely decorated using the refurbished furniture from the S.S. United States. The food was to die for. Today we had lunch at this great diner overlooking the ocean in Manteo (Again the name escapes me)...but it was great...Definitely a wonderful Valentines Day weekend. Well, I will keep this short so as to not piss off all the V-day boycotters.

A hypothesis on prevailing wind currents

This is a question that has baffled men for many years I'd imagine, but, lacking the proper forum for discussion, its considered indecent to talk about in polite circles. Since we all know that I'll talk about just about anything..... I'll go ahead and propose it to the world at large. How come, when you fart in a vehicle, the duration of the stench is directly proportionate to the olfactory offensibility said stench? The more poweful of a reek your ass produces, the longer it wants to stay in the venhicle. And further, this is only half of the question: The other half of the question pertains to prevaling wind current. For example, whenn driving in a vehicle at 45 miles per hour and a fart is released from its gaseous prison, no amout of wind current seems to affect it's presence, nor its duration. Science would suggest the the fart should be quickly vented from the vehicle's confines, since in essence it is a collection of particles floating through the air. For some reason, the fart particles seem completely immune to the effects of wind. Anyone know why this is? No... really... I'm serious! Scythe, I'm sure you have a scientific answer to this one. Or maybe Mourningstar....

Sunday Sunday Sunday.....

Greetings all, Wow.. what a night. It's noon and I've just fully recovered from an evening out with the Scoobs (and the not-quite-scoobs). Natalie, I hope you and Thiago are having a good weekend together on the beach. Bannag, as always you're spending time with Peanut and the family and I hope your weekend is wonderful too. Mine's been pretty good thus far, sans the V-day stress every male feels the day before V-Day. Anyone ever notice that V-Day and D-Day sound a lot alike??? I guess it depends on the outcome...lol Well, we began the night with our weekly venture to On Cue. Reel Time (Adrian's other other other band,) was playing last night. They have an ok sound, but I like his main band better. As usual, drama ensued at the OC early on. I, however, was oblivious. I was playing pool most of the time we were there. (Bannag, you would be proud! I kicked some serious ass on the felt last night.) Not much of mention happened at the Cue last night. Natalie's gang met us out there for awhile and then we left for Emerald City. (Oh yeah, that's why I didn't answer your phone call Scythe... I couldn't hear the phone) I think, drama aside, that everyone had a good time. (if you completely remove the relationship issues) The new folks merged pretty well with the old folks and as usual we capped the night with a breakfast get-together at 2:30 in the morning. However let me state as a matter of warning; IHOP is nowhere near ready for us... lol We decided to skip on the trip to murder central (Denny's) and try IHOP instead (yeah, I take the blame for that... my bad). Needless to say, the 4 out of 5 Scoobies prefer Denny's in a recent taste test. There was one particularly funny episode at IHOP last night. Todd, in his usual candor, asked the waitress for a Glass of water, a Lemon wedge, and a Krouton. 10 sinutes later, I'll be damned if the goober waitress didn't show up with exactly that. Everything else we ordered, however, was either late, cold, or just plain not good. I'm sitting here now with Marcus and April. She's finally decided to unpack her stuff from moving in; OH JOY! MORE GLASSES! We have sooo much stuff now that I've got to figure a way to re-contemporarize my condo... lol. Ok... I've wandered you aimlessly through my mind for quite long enough today I think. My first idea was to come on here and rebutt the Anti-V-Day sentiment, but I'll leave that to persons better than myself. I'm a man... I won't win that one anyway, so what's the point. Ok... till next time, or until I decide to have some more worth talking about. Talk to you soon. *poof*

Why Valentine's Day Sucks

Ok, so I know that most of you reading this are a part of a couple, and that this weekend is a time to reafirm your love and commitment by showing with romantic words and gestures how much you mean to each other. Most of the time, I would say that is a great thing. I have even enjoyed Valentine's day in the past, last year was one of the happiest memories I have. However, this year I am not lucky enough to have someone to share all those happy things with. The only man I have ever been in love with just left me a month ago, and is now back with his ex girlfriend, giving her the flowers and attention that I think I should still be entitled to. I just spent the last 14 months of my life with him, so where are my flowers? So here is my version of a bitter rant towards men (and yes, not all men are bad, I know, so no one on this site should take offense). It's impossible for me not to feel upset and sad just because HE decided he was bored and no longer wanted to be in a serious, long term relationship. It is ridiculous for him to tell me that I cry too much and that because I cry means I am still hanging on to the idea he is coming back for me. I am not. I have mostly good days now, but sometimes a girl just has to break down and cry, no matter how much she hates herself for it. So that's why I am boycotting V-Day this year- it just reminds me that things don't always work out the way you want them to. But anyway, I don't really know any of you very well, I just thought I would join the ranks of ranters and venters for a moment. I don't know any of you very well, but I would very much like to. From what I can see, you are some of the best people in the world. Sweet, and loyal, and caring. So please enjoy your Valentines day if you have someone to share it with, and take it from me: don't ever take that person or a single day you spend with them for granted. Tell them how much you love them every day. And help out your single friends so they feel included in this couples weekend. Thanks, and to everyone, I hope I can get to know you all better. You are all wonderful. Heather

Update on CONSTANTINE

As stated earlier, ECU's Mendenhall is going to be showing a sneak preview of CONSTANTINE the new Keanu Reeves movie this week. I found out it will be Wednesday, at 7:00pm. The price is free, but because of that, I would reccomend anyone interested show up at Mendenhall at least an hour prior to showtime for seating. If anyone has any other questions or needs directions, please let me know in a post.

Here's a new medication for you guys. I've tried it.. works great for my days at the office!
Posted By Gandalf

Hmmm.. now what to do?

Well, as everyone has said; its Friday. Currently its 12:30 in the afternoon and my work is pretty much done. I'm sure I'll think of something to do to work, but the stressful part of my week is mostly over (with the sole exception of Valentine's Day.) Any Plans For The Group? So far:
  • Lil'Bit has hangout plans with a friend tonight.
  • Agent M has hangout plans with a friend tonight.
  • Nat & Thiago are going to the beach.
  • Bannag will spend it with family.
  • Doc is going to be in Fayettenam
  • Ed & Justin are giggin' (I think)
  • Mark is workin on his boat.
And I'm not sure what April and I are going to do yet. Of course, we're up to some hang-out time with whomever is interested, but I'm not sure how much we'll feel like "going out". We're still trying to get on top of the bills for the new place so we're still trying to conserve money until we get a working budget for this place worked out. Not to mention, poor April has been worked like a dog for the last 36 hours. She pulled a day shift at the grind yesterday, a night shift at the bar last night (9 more hours) and then pulled another shift this morning at the grind. So I'm pretty sure that Twitterpaited is going to conk out like a champ when she gets home. I did manage to get my hands on "The Notebook" last night at Blockbuster so we can "couple-up" and watch that if anyone's interested. And I'm gonna see if I can get Shark's Tale from Thiago before they leave. So, whomever is interested in doing something, just let me know. I'm open to suggestion. Hope you're all having a good Friday... don't work too awful hard today.

THE WEEKEND!

Well guys, it is here another short break in our week that we call the weekend; a time to sit back and relax, watch cartoons and do absolutely nothing.........RIIIIIGHHHTTT!!! Don't you wish! Whatever happen to those days where weekends were for sitting on your ass and playing with friends out on the street corner (well, some still do this...but we have names for those people). But I am actually looking forward to this weekend. My baby and I are going to go to kill devil hills to celebrate Valentine's Day. We usually don’t get to get out of this city due to the fact that our car is not trustworthy and our bank account is not much better...but we borrowed a car and said screw it! This will be our first romantic reprieve from this town since we moved here in 2003, and I am very much looking forward to it. Now you say, why kill devil hills? well that was where thiago picked and I say who cares? I just want to finally get to spend sometime alone with him away from the hustle and bustle of the big.......computer......you thought I was going to call G-Vegas a city didn’t you ...ha....anyways, I am excited! My lap top is in the shop right now so this means that there is no way that we will have a computer around and I will have him all to myself!! This might be nirvana :-) SO yes, all of you that are paying close attention realize what this means.....I will not be on to post until Sunday :-( Can we have a moment of silence..................................................Imean it ......silence............................................................Ok That should be good for now! However, I do ask that you don’t forget about me and please vote on a name for my own blog page!!! (Scroll down, it is the text in purple with the heading "Help") I will miss you all!!! And will be thinking of you (ok…I am not going to lie, I probably will try not to think of this town or anyone in it…sorry guys, but the first part was true) Holla!

TGIF!!!!!! :)

WOW! Can you believe that Friday is finally here? I feel like I've so been left out of the loop because of working so much! Just wanted to drop a note to fill in anyone whose been wondering where I've been. I had to be at the Grind at 11:00 yesterday to wait (my first time) on a party of 40 senior citizens. Luckily it was a buffet, so my biggest worry was whether they had enough to drink and if they needed more sugar and creamer. :) Think I did pretty well! I got off from work around 3:30 and then had to come home and get ready for work at the Cue, which was really dead for a Thursday. If it hadn't been for Gandalf and Mourningstar and his wonderful wife, my last 3 hours would have been the worse! I finally came crawling in around 3:15 and of course what did I do first, check the blog! I swear we've all come victim to this thing! :) Now I start off this day by taking Tracy's shift at the Grind for her, so she can head to F-ville to see her man and celebrate V Day tonight. She has to work at the bar tomorrow night, and he leaves Sun. for VA for a week, so its now or never! Someone please ask me why I'm torturing myself to try and work this morning? I'm surprised my spelling and grammar maybe halfway right............... but no comments on that, I don't really care. LOL Well I guess I should probably quit jabbering and start getting ready for work............... my day should be over by 3!!!! (and of course, the first thing I'll do when I get home is check the blog for anything new!) Have a great day y'all and keep blogging! I'll catch up later!

Here is a pic of a true geek

The Things I Think About at The Bar

After discussion and serious mental deliberation on the subject, I've finally come to understand the differences in the cost for Alcohol. Apparently, there is an unwritten alcoholics rule that states that it's not the actual drunkenness that's affected by expensive alcohol; it's the hangover you have the morning after. Suppose I purchase 10 shots at a bar for 3 dollars each on friday night. By 1 AM Saturday morning I'm properly soused and ready to go to Denny's for breakfast, after which a normal person would fall in the bed, sleep soundly for hours, and wake up with a SPLITTING headache and hangover. Now conversely, if I go to the bar on Friday night and spend 8 dollars per shot on top shelf liquor, I'm STILL soused by the same time and still so incoherent that I can't truly appreciate the dollar-value of my drunken stupor as opposed to the other nights when I drink cheap liquor. However, upon waking Saturday morning, I only now have a mild-earthquake in my head as opposed to the expected Splitting headache. So what have I gained by spending more money on shots? INSURANCE! That's what top shelf liquor is. It's cheap liquor with a comprehensice drunkennes insurance policy. Therefore, if you DO accidentally have an alcoholis accident, your Alcohol insurance will kick in the following morning, saving you the misery experienced by those who can't afford the same insurance policy and were forced to have simply Geico (I Had to make that reference... it was just sitting there waiting to be made.) So the next time your significant other chides you for spending too much money on drinking expensive liquor, you should simply remind them that you care enough to provide yourself with proper health insurance, dental insurance, automotive insurance, life insurance, and now you are also increasing your chances of survival by providing yourself with proper Alcohol Insurance!!! I feel so much better now. Another universal axiom discovered by Gandalf. Ahhhh...

WHAT'S UP WITH THE COWBOY HATS!!!

OK so maybe I just like to pick fights....but what is up with all the people with cowboy hats on! This is NC not TX....come on guys!!!! You know I am just picking

Things that grate my nerves

I'm sure some of you have heard these before, but I thought I'd share this with you. Things that annoy me:
  • People who point at their wrist while asking for the time. I know where my watch is buddy, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the bathroom is?
  • People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the TV remote because they refuse to walk to the TV and change the channel manually.
  • When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Screw off. What good is a goddamn cake if you can't eat it? What, should I eat someone else's cake instead?
  • When people say "It's always in the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?
  • When people say, while watching a movie "Did you see that?" No dicknose, I paid $9.00 to come to the theatre and stare at the frigging ceiling up there. What did you come here for?
  • When something is "new and improved", which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.
  • When a cop pulls you over and then asks if you know how fast you were going? You should know asshole, you frigging pulled me over.
  • When people say "Life is short." What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What? Are they going to do something that's longer?
  • When people ask "Can I BORROW a piece of paper?" Sure, but please don't return the favor! It's one god damn piece of paper!
  • When you are waiting for the bus and someone ask you "Did the bus come yet?" If the bus came I would not be standing here asshole!

Handicapped People Suck...

They just fined Breezewood and Hyde Park's Homeowner's association $800,000.00 for not being "handicap accessible." Here's my hint you stupid shits: If you're handicapped, wheelchair bound, club-footed, or lost your genitals in Vietnam.... LIVE ON THE FIRST DAMNED FLOOR! How stupid is this shit! Why in the world would a handicapped individual WANT to live in the "inaccessible" areas of these two locations? "Hmm.. let's zip my speedy-chair down the hallway, around the corner, down the ramp, around the corner, down the ramp, around the corner, down the ramp, around the corner, down the next ramp, around the next corner, down the next ramp... SHIT! I forgot my handi-car keys! DAMN IT! *screeching sounds*.... (commencing reverse zoom back to the handi-pad) If you're handi-capable then take the fuckin stairs like everyone else if you're too good to live on the ground level (which IS accessible). I could think of a LOT better things to do with 800 thousand dollars than add skateboard ramps! Who's gonna run your ass down the elevator/ramp whatever when your second floor corner cozy catches fire? Build a bigger fucking pool! Ok.. I'm over it now... ahhhhhhhhh

Old Navy to locate in Greenville

And here goes all my spending money. Old Navy to locate in Greenville It just occurred to me that we guys are outnumbered 3 to 1 on here.... hmmm *slinking away into the shadows....* "Got to find more weapons if we're gonna take Charlie!"

Reach for the skies...! (nah.. I'm just stretchin')

Well, we crossed over a hundred visitors today. That's not bad for one day! Damn... that was easy. Now I'm gonna have to wait till some more worthy marker, like 1,000 to be excited again. It seems wrong that the gaps in my excitement should grow exponentially with success. How defeating is that? That would never work in the marketing world. I think I really like this. I get to come on here, blast away some stress, mess with your minds, and notice April that I'm NOT playing Half Life 2. I wanna get a new movie tonight. I think I'll take Mourningstar and go to blockbuster... that is, if he doesn't scourge the intelligence from me while picking my rather stretched brain to help design his blog. Ok.. enough witless banter for now. Tiddles bitches!

Glad to see you made it Nikki

OOh... now we can pick on each other in the ether as well as in the real world... THIS should be fun. lol.

Wow... delirium, boredom, freedom, or just plain "dom"

Wow... what a friggin day. In addition to doing great on my proposals today, I sold about $1,500.00 worth of stuff on eBay. *doing the happy dance... not to be confused with the Robot. If you want to see the robot, ask Gecko. Otherwise, get out of the way so I can happy dance all over the place.* "Happy dance, happy dance, happy dance." Hey... does anyone know the WORDS to the happy dance? Prancing around like a gay tampon on a string is infinitely better with music, but all I have is this little hum in my brain... or that could be the tumor... tiddles! At about 6:30 I took a break and now I've updated the photos on the sidebar with three new people. I added Gecko, Bannag, and Natalie to the mix. Whom else do we invite? Anyone got any suggestions? PS: Thanks to all those who wished me luck today on my Ihop deal... apparently it worked. We got the job.

Movie Sneak Preview

For all those that are interested in seeing the new movie Constantine Starring Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weiz, I have heard that Mendenhall, ECU's student center, is showing a sneak preview of it Next Wednesday. The student center always has free admission for it's movies, so if I get anymore information on getting tickets or times, I will be sure to let you all know, or just post questions if you have them. Let me know if anyone else is interrested in going!

Luck, Philosophy, and Refried Beans.

Well, wish us luck. Tim, Dan, and Myself are going to IHOP at 2:00 to quote them on adding a new network drop so they can connect the kitchen computers to the front computers for their Point Of Sale software. Additionally, they want to get ahead of the curve and offer wireless internet to their customers, so we're bidding that job too while we're there. So far, I'm 2 out of 3 on quotes. I've done 3 big customer quotes in the last two weeks and 2 of them have gone through. I'd like to close this one too and make my closing percentage 75%, as opposed to 66%. Something about working in Direct Sales makes you get stuck in that mind frame forever. Everything becomes percentages, figures, laws of averages, etc. On the other hand, maybe I've just put myself in that frame of mind to subconsciously take the pressure off me for selling the service. If I keep the focus on the facts and figures, I'll forget that I've got twenty-thousand dollars at stake. Hmm... interesting philosophical question about how my mind works. I'll have to revisit that thought later. Personally, I just love the "rush" of knowing I landed a new client, a new contract, or a new sale. I still get happy every time I see an eBay sale go through my account. (lol... maybe I'm just too easy to please) Well, I'm gonna hop in the shower and get ready for this appointment. Wish us luck. I'll see you all soon. PS: Bannag, Here is a perfect forum for your Vitamin O research.... (just a thought) PSS: You all read this just to see where the refried beans came into the picture didn't you? Ah ha. Till next time... *vanishing into the ether* *poof*

This is one I got from Megan this morning. You "should" be able to click on the picture to see it full size if I'm coding it right.

To work or not to work...

So it's my second day of blogging, and I've already gotten quite addicted to checking the site. So much in fact, I'd much rather be talking to all of you, than working on the three or four papers I have backing up on me. I don't have classes today, so my goals for the day are as follows: -get a rough draft of my travel piece written for my advanced non fiction class, due monday. -get a rough draft of another personal narrative for non fiction, due monday. -go to walmart and get food -cash a check at the bank -start working on my presentation for FL All of this while keeping up with the blog.... I'm hoping at least the first two things will get done, but if that can happen I will consider it a good day. This blog site is really turning out to be cool.... and the more posts the better (hint, hint) :) Gecko

Another Day

Thursday, February 10th, 2005 The first vestiges of caffiene are finding their way through my veins right this minute. My head slowly becomes less fuzzy with every sip. You'll have to pardon me for a moment; I'm not quite "there" yet, wherever there is. Oh, what to do today; there's a lot to get accomplished today.
  1. Process my eBay sales from yesterday.
  2. Finish the Dell quote and make it ready for presentation to Baldwin & Associates.
  3. Meet with Dan & Tim around 1:30 and go make a presentation to Ihop.
  4. Let Megan's Dogs out around lunch time, since April's going to be at work.
  5. Begin the in stallation of the wireless COR antenna at Dr. Klein's office.
  6. Figure out what to do with my spare time since April's going to be working for 15 hours or so today.
  7. Make sure Tim and Dan are on-site for the beginning of the hospital job tonight at 5:00.
Hmmm... unless my delirium is playing tricks on me, I've got quite the day ahead. And the sad thing about it all? THIS is the first thing I thought about this morning when I woke up. I wanted to come in here, sit down at my dining room table on the laptop, and see if anyone had posted anything. Well, welcome all to my new morning "break room" session. Maybe we'll start to congregate here in the mornings. And you're right Bannag, this got more traffic REAL fast, compared to the forums, but that's ok. Just don't forget our traditions in the forums, ok? And don't worry... you've always been 42 in my book! LMAO April's getting on me now... .guess I'd better find something more fastidious to do with my time before she cracks the whip again. The old scars from last time are just beginning to heal as it is.

Nerd Quiz

I just took the nerd quiz. It said that I was only lightly nerdy at 48% nerdy. I have to admit I'm a little bit dissapointed. I always thought of myslef as more nerdy than that....but maybe I am thinking of geeky....

The Gecko Dance

GEICO Video Library Ok.. so you KNOW I had to add this.

Bells, Whistles, Batteries not included.

Now What? Now that I've added a few bells and whistles, I want some opinions on what else to add to the site, without making it cheesy. I was thinking of maybe the following:
  1. pictures of the members on the right hand side. Since the page is always going to be fairly long anyway, I have the free space to put a picture about the size of mine on the sidebar for each of the members. Anyone think it's a good idea/bad idea, etc? ( I can already see Bannag's objections a mile away)
  2. links to other web sites: I added all the web pages of all the members that I could think of, except Todd's new page. (He just made that so I haven't had time to update it again yet.) Are there any other home pages for the members that you would like to see? As far as I know, none of the other members have one yet.
  3. Other stuff: There's all kinds of stuff we can add. If you see something on another bLog that you like, let me know and I'll add it. Most of it only takes a few minutes to re-code. I'm tweaking the code manually so I can get the best out of the effect....
Any and all ideas are certainly welcome. Good Idea: This is a perfect place to put all the email jokes we all send back and forth. Feel free to post WHATEVER you want on here.. I want to see where this goes. *disappearing into the ether in a poof*

New Feature

For anyone who is interested and is having trouble figuring out how to add a post to this board. Here's the way it works. First you have to register with the blogger.com site. After you're registered and I add you as a member, then you can click on the top link on the Right Side, under the Links menu and it should take you right straight to a new message screen. Hope this helps alleviate some confusion.

The peoples' worthless opinion

You all know Todd. I sent him an invitation, and he's made his own blog... lol. The peoples' worthless opinion

Hi!

Just wanted to say hi to all, I'm a little new at this blog thing, Tommy and I have been playing on them all night. I think this is a neat way to keep up with all the crazy things going on, with our schedules and all! Hope to see more posts and notes from anyone that's interested! Baby, keep up the great work! I really like how it looks!

Addictive

Ever since Gandalf introduced me to this site, I can't stop checking to see what has been posted, and if there are any new comments. I swear, these things are addictive. Or maybe it's just me, I'm not quite sure. But I'm having fun, so I guess it really doesn't matter :) Real blog or fluff? You decide. Gecko

This guy is great

Check out this guy's site. Just read it for a moment.. he's got some absolutely "Todd" material! lol (and yes, I stole my egyptian name generator idea from him, but he's too funny not to share.)

Walk like an egyptian

Ok. It's 10:00 PM, dinner is done, April is on the couch, and Carolina is about to put the hammer to Duke on the basketball game, Doc can't carry a lamp, Marisa is bored and reading a book, and I'm dutifully sitting here finding things to interest you people. Now I know at some point in your life you've stopped to ask yourself, "Hmmm.. I wonder what my name would look like in Egyptian Hieroglyphics..." Well, SEEK NO MORE you filthy scourges of society! Here it is. Check out the link to see your name in Hieroglyph; and then get your sorry ass back to work because you KNOW you can't tell your boss what you were just doing reading this post. See, this post wasn't a real post... it's a test of your mental ability to recognize real post material from fluff, and if you're reading this part STILL... then you failed.

That's what I get for getting new toys

First off, my thanks go to Bannag for clueing me in on this site. I've been kicking around the idea of opening up a blog site for a long time now. I love updating my site, but I have to have the free time to do it, and that's rare these days. So, thank you Bannag, for allowing me yet another public portal from which I can bandstand and soapbox my stream-of-consciousness rantings for all the world to see. When the holocaust comes, I want you to know that I'm holding you personally responsible... *lol* Once I started playing with this thing, I couldn't stop. first I was tweaking the templates. Then I was tweaking the code. Then I was adding pictures, then links, and NOW I'm reduced to actually adding content: something a designer should never have to do! That being said, EVERYONE please feel free to post here as often as you'd like. It's a fun way for me to keep in touch with all of you and to share the events we do together. Speaking of events, everyone needs to remember that Ed and Justin are playing on the 19th at On Cue. It's a combination show/birthday party. If I'm not mistaken, it's Ed's, Shannon's, and Marcus', birthday get-together. As usual, it's a Saturday night and the festivities start at 9 (which means 10 if you know this gang at all!) Now, I expect mucho-bloggage from everyone involved. Just be careful. This content is internationally published and linked to a bunch of other blog sites. Have fun and I hope to hear from all of you soon.

Initial Greetings

Greetings all, With the vast amount of time I spend on the Internet, you would think that I'd have time to update my domain more. Seeing as I can't find that kind of time, I thought I would at least create a blog site to enhance the warm cozy feeling you all have at my web portal. This is actually the first blog I've ever written... wow.. Gandalf learns a new trick! I'm only making this particular post to say Hi, make sure this works, and get everything rolling. I'll definitely add more later and update the site often. Please feel free to reply to anything you see that interests you. The one thing I've always loved about my web site is the user-interactivity. I'll write you all again soon. Regards, Mithrandir

Dude.. Todd is the MAN!

First Time Blog

Hello everyone, I'm not sure how many people will be reading these blogs, but I have been invited to author blogs by Gandalf himself, something I really couldn't turn down. As if it isn't obvious to anyone reading this, I've never shared my thoughts in an online blog until now, so until I get a feel for it I warn you my blogs may be a little dry. I guess I'll just make this entry brief, say hi to anyone reading, and promise to post more in the future. Enjoy the rest of the site and feel free to respond and say hi as well. Gecko

All Righty Then

Well, it looks like it's all working. I've invited a few of you to the Blog as authors, so I'll wait and see how that turns out. Otherwise, I'm ready for business! Yeah!
