I stand corrected on my previous statement about the dating of this arch. Marcus Aurelius was the roman emperor who ruled directly after the death of his uncle Antonious Pius and shared the emperorship with another, whose name I can't remember at the moment. This arch you're seeing was erected in the 2nd century DURING his reign in Rome, which means I'm standing under an arch that is over 1900 years old.. that's one thousand-nine-hundred years... that's awesome!
