Mountains of Sand

This you're seeing here is more like the traditional sand mountains you would expect to see here. I cannot speak for sure, but it is my opinion that the natural Mica in the land keeps these masses in place. When seen up close in the right light, it appears that someone has shattered a huge sheet of glass on the side of the mountain. The mica looks like small flaky-biscuit sized pieces of dirty glass. It's a very interesting thing to see up close.. but I wouldn't suggest staying long to admire it in the day time.. the sunlight refelction up close makes it like a giant reflecting pan, which bakes your skin pretty quickly. Posted by Picasa
