You know as dumb as it is, it occurred to me that there has never been a picture taken of my behind my computer desk. Considering that I'm there 60-80 hours every week, you'd think there would have been one. Of course, I'm the one usually holding the camera, so it kind of makes sense. Who would walk in and say "Oh.. there's Tommy doing nothing.. let's snapshot that!" In this case, April was playin with the cam.. so she got one.

I am so bored...
It is currently 9pm. I have been at work for 4 hours. I'm bored to death and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better...I fear. Only 6 more hours to go!! Anyway, I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. The highlight of my weekend was the concert. I'm glad I went. I ended up having a pretty ok time. (Slow, sappy songs still suck though! Ugh!) I am patiently waiting for some kind of entertainment... aecudaisy, If u get this tonight, call me when u get off. I will still be up.
Happy Memorial Day All
I've been sitting here working on a post since 8:30 this morning. First my browser crashed, then the day's vents started rolling and I've yet to complete it. So, now, here I am. For the third attempt at saying hello.
As some of you know, we went to the Rascall Flatts and Blake Shelton concert last night in Virginia Beach. It was an awesome show. I grew up on the beaches of the east coast (literally IN the sand ON the beach) but it was still an amazing event. When we arrived, the concert stage was setup in the sand on the beach, right behind the hotel strip. (What i wouldn't have given to have one of those balcony rooms last night. I bet that was an awesome view. How often does a spectator get to see a concert from Above the whole event. I bet the perpective was beautiful.) It was the first annual patriotic celebration in Virginia beach annd it lasted from Friday evening until Sunday evening apparently. I can't imagine the exhaustion of some of those who partied all weekend there. I suppose their consolation is that they didn't have to work today.
The show began with a fly over by the Langley Air Force Base F-14 Tomcats. Two tomcats came screaming across the deck at about 400 miles an hour. Slow enough to see, but fast enough to be impressive nonetheless. Someone made the comment that Nascar events get 12 aircraft, but a patriotic celebration only gets 2. I figure since it's the "first" annual event... maybe they'll get more every year.. kind of a bonus prize for success. Regardless of the number of jets, it has always instilled in me a sense of awesome wonder to watch them fly. They came in about 3-500 feet off the deck, zipped across the short strip of beach, levelled over the water and then pitched tail flap and kicked afterburners about a quarter mile out, zooming off into the wild blue yonder. Concert aside, I would have driven there just to see that.
The show was opened by a Master Sergeant playing the Star Spangled Banner on an alto sax... very beautiful ceremony indeed.
It was April & Me, Lee and Nicole, Bridget, and my friend from the old days, Tom Robbins. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, Tom keeps abreast of our lives from here on the blog and on my web site and photo gallery. So Tom, in case you're reading this, Don't worry.. your pictures will make it onto the site by this evening when I get home.
By the way, I hated all of you at 8:30 this morning. I got home around 3:30 and fell immediately into bed. April woke me up poking and prodding me out of the bed this morning with that wonderful "Tooooommmmmyyy.... turn off the cloooooccckk," upon whence I rose, stumbled numbly into the shower and proceeded to wash.. I think.. in actuality I think I might have just slumbered against the side of the shower until the water ran cold. I don't honestly remember.
With my work schedule going like it is lately, I have adopted the schedule of a real businessperson.. much to the chagrin of my friends, who just think I'm becoming an old man. But being here in the office in the mornings by 8:30 or so has made my day much more productive. It seems those at work have begun to see me as a little more agressive lately... lol. Some appreciate it, some resent it, and some hope it will wear off I'm sure. But anyone who knows me knows how hard it is for me to get up in the mornings, so if I can get MY sorry butt out of the bed and get to work, they certainly can to.
Due to the lack of sleep this morning, I wasn't my usual prepared self at this morning's conference. I personally blame it on the holiday. I was present and accounted for, but I was pretty much a groggy bear until i had the first pot of coffee. That reminds me ( as I just picked up Hal's coffee cup and drank his cold coffee... that I need to get on him to clean his mess up in my office... dang it. I'm not a maid.)
Having the new office has been a plus too. I got all my old furniture back, a 16 x 16 foot corner office, my desk, credenza, hutch, bookcases, conference table, and NOW I feel like an executive again. It's been a long time. It seems that the decorum and the way you dress truly do make in impression in how you carry yourself and how you feel about yourself, your job, and your dedication. I've been preaching this to people for years, but I forgot it myself in the recent months... I've been in blue jeans and polo's so long now that I forgot I had nice dress clothes. (Note to self: Throw these slacks away. Allison apparently decided that the 34 inch inseam was too long and washed them in something when we were together... shortening them dramatically. I just toss it up to yet another pair of pants that suffered the fate of her laundry days.) One guy running around this office with high-tiders is enough. I don't need to add to that particular fashion enigma.
Well, I think it's time for me to head out. I'm going to get some bojangles and take it home to April and have lunch at the house with her. I'll see you all soon.
P.S.> Please post when you get a moment. I really miss reading what you all do throughout your day. My day is so busy now that I dont' get the time for the phone call updates that I used to, and the blog is suffering lately. It seems it's been relegated to a place for re-posts of other blogs and bad jokes. The intent of its creation was not a repository for regurgitated humor, embezzled from other individual's borrowed humor. That makes me wonder, how many jokes you think get copied and posted from blog to blog in the course of one day?
My friend Jonathan Watson has an amazing blog.. it's truly him; his life, his feelings, thoughts, emotions. I guess if I want to inspire that on my own site, I need to make the time to perpetuate it myself with meaningful commentary of my own.. hmm... *writing that on my to-do list*
Ok all.. see you soon. I'm going to post the pics from the concert when I get home for lunch. Talk to you all soon.

Happy Memorial Day!
I'd like to say hello to everyone this morning, and hope you have/had a great Memorial Day weekend! Mine has been ok so far, but the fun's really beginning today!
Tommy and myself, and a few friends of ours are leaving today for VA Beach, VA to go to a Racal Flatts concert and to enjoy the festival on the Boardwalk. We'll be leaving in a few hours and heading up, to make sure we have time to get where we're going and find parking, and to enjoy the day there some as well. I think we'll all have a great time! The best part is seeing Rascal Flatts LIVE!! They are an amazing group, but have taken on special meaning since Tommy and I have been dating! :)
I guess this is all for now, I'm going to go get some coffee so I can function. :) Everyone take care, and start blogging! I'll stop by again whenever I get back!

Too Crude NOT To Post
Three old black ladies were preparing for their first plane flight.
The first lady said, "I don't know bout y'all, but I'm gonna wear me some hot pink panties on dis flight."
"Why you gonna wear dat?" the other two asked.
The first replied, "Cause, if dat plane goes down and I'm out dere laying butt-up in a corn field, dey gonna find me first."
The second lady says, "Well, I'm a-gonna wear me some fluorescent orange panties.""Why you gonna wear dat?" the others asked. The second lady answered: "Cause if dat plane goes down, and I'm floating butt-up in the ocean, dey can see me first."
The third old lady says, "Well, I'm not going to wear any panties at all.""What? No panties?!" the others said in disbelief.
"Dat's right," says the third lady. "I'm not wearing any panties, cause if dat plane goes down, the first thing they always look for is da black box!"

Hey everyone!
Hey guys, its been....months I guess since I posted anything on here. But I still read the posts every day and even make the occasional comment. Sorry for going incommunicado, but with the end of the semester, moving out, and coming back to Pennsylvania for a while, I haven't had a lot of energy to recount my life (and I wouldn't want to bore you all anyway :) )
Gandalf, those pictures look amazing, I never realized Georgia was so lovely. April and Gandalf, congrats (belated, again, sorry) on your six month aniversary. April, keep those quizzes and jokes coming, they are always so funny!
I would just like to take the time to Thank all the Scoobies. I had a great time getting to know all of you this semester. It was not the most pleasant time of my life, and getting to know all of you brightened my life considerably, in ways I could probably never express to you. So just know that I'll always be grateful for you guys letting me be a part of your lives this semester.
I am currently in my parents house in Pennsylvania watching reruns of Family Guy and reading a book I have been trying to get my hands on for over a year now. Thank God for interlibrary loans! I have been spending my days sleeping and studying for the LSATs, and hanging out with the friends I have here in York I don't get to see but a few times a year. I hope all of you are doing well in your jobs and taking a little time to enjoy the summer....though I hope its a litte warmer there than it has been here. I swear, this is the coldest may I can remember!
Alright, thats enough from me for now, just wanted to say hi again :)

Glad to be back in Greenville
Hi all. It's Saturday afternoon at 2:50 PM. I'm just now getting some free time after returning last night. Our job in Waycross Georgia that was supposed to take about 3 hours ended up taking 12 hours. We got on site at 10:00 AM yesterday from the Hotel, worked straight through until 10:30 PM and then decided to attempt the drive back as opposed to taking a room at a hotel for the evening and losing another day away from our homes and all of you guys.
The GPS says that the drive from Waycross, GA (about 10 miles from the Florida line) is a 10.5 hour drive. Needless to say, I disagreed. I'd been making good time on all the other legs of the 1500 mile trip so I made it a plan to shave off an hour and a half over the course of the night. We gassed up in Waycross, stopped by Wal-Mart to get some supplies and then we took HWY 82 to 95 near Florida. The rest... well that was a blur. Tim snored continually for the trip, not that I had much hope of it being otherwise. My cell phone was in roaming so I couldn't call folks to keep me awake... so I just stocked up on cigarettes and put the accelerator to the floor.
In the end, I shaved 2 hours and 40 minutes off a 10 hour trip. I just wanted to make it home before the sun came up. I wanted to be asleep before dawn or I knew I'd never sleep well. Long story short, I got in at 6:38 this morning, gave April a hug, crawled in bed beside her and slept like never before. I woke up for some reason at 11:00 AM this morning, even before the clock went off and shortly later, Doc showed up. He's asleep on the couch with the baseball game on the TV. Ive folded and hung 4 loads of laundry, washed 3, dried and folded 2 more at this point, cleaned the kitchen ( somewhat) and made with the domestic for a few minutes. Currently I'm making sweet tea, drinking coffee, and typing to you guys.
I missed my friends a lot on this journey. There were places, incidents, scenery, that brought thoughts of all of you to my mind from time to time. When I looked over the still waters of the mountains, I thought of how much April would love it; how Bannag would think it was beautiful but too cold, how Marisa would just go "uh huh" and keep on with her conversation, undaunted. Marion, well that one's just a given.
However, I have to admit that most of my friends wouldn't have truly enjoyed parts of it. I however, enjoyed the fact that for a change, I had REAL food. The steaks were cut from the animals on the farm. The eggs came from a chicken about 15 minutes before hitting the pan. The sausage was the remains of the last pet my sister had. The butter was fresh made from the milk that came from the cattle the day before. It's just nice to have a real reminder of what life used to be like.
You can't imagine the work load in that kind of environment though. Between my Dad, Becky, adn 3 capable children, it's all they can do to finish the daily chors in the daylight hours. Morning begins at 5:45 in the morning for everyone in the house and bedtime comes at 10:00 PM. Aside from 30 minutes prior to bedtime, there's really not much free time to be had throughout an average day.
However pleasant and altriustic this part of the trip was, I was nonetheless happy to get back behind my Comptuer, GPS, Digital Phone, and other toys of the modern world.
Now that I'm back at home at a reliable internet connection, I'm going to post some more pics of the trip. You'll most likely be reading this last, considering the way that the blog posts new posts on Top.. so just pretend you're reading all this backwards, and you'll have it the way I actually intended it.
My hello's and thanks go out to all those who called, or left their best wishes on my trip. Bannag, Ding, Shak, Agent M, Tracy, and of course April.
Hope to see you all tonight.
At this point, I think Todd, Sameena, Doc, Myself, and April are going to watch some movies, drink a little, and maybe even have a cook out.
You're all welcome to attend. You know I love the company.
More coming soon... love all my scoobbs.

Greetings From Me...
Hi all. I thought I'd make a quick post and let you all know I was alive. Seeing the last few posts before the pics, it seems like the only action on the blog was my life-story over the last few days... lol.. which is ok I guess. I miss seeing you all post though. Especially like now when I'm out of town and the cell phone is roaming.
I had this nice plan of showing you all the pictures from my week thus far but it seems this fucking laptop wants to screw up tonight and not let me post any more. So, my one thing that I wanted to do will go undone this evening it seems. Quite frankly, my mood is so soured at this point, that I just want to throw it out the window of this hotel and watch it splat to the pavement below.
Currently, I'm sitting in Waycross, Georgia. It looks like like Kinston if you carried it to hell. Wow.. this is a tiny little hole-in-the-wall on the way to nowhere. Anyway, I'm friggin exhausted at this point.. so please forgive me my indiosyncricies at this late hour. My last few days have been a blur of highway signs and fast food eateries. To the best of my knowledge, the last 72 hours have been pretty much this:
Wednesday morning, get up at 6:00 and drive 11 hours. Eat dinner. Sleep 3 hours. Wake up, drive 3 more hours. Work for 8 hours in a 90 degree warehouse with sunburn. Drive for 6 more hours. And now I'm here. We got caught in a traffic jam, but thanks to Ping-Bot and our bad ass rigged-out Tahoe and GPS system, we completely circumvented all of Atlanta through back roads, cut off some time, and had a great (boring) drive here. At least I didn't get a damned speeding ticket this time. (Friggin bastard state trooper... although he did like my gun.. lol) Tomorrow, I get up ( in about 4 hours) work for 8 hours, drive for 9 hours, then get home (maybe) and fall out in my bed for 24 hours until time to prepare for Sameena's party (WHICH YOU ALL BETTER COME TO!) , unless I absolutely can't drive anymore in which case I'll re-route long enough to sleep for a couple hours in a bed somewhere and continue the drive in the morning. Sameena has got screwed on parties the last couple years, so all I want to do is have a nice dinner, appetizers, etc at my house and just have friends come hang out, spend time together, and just "be" themselves for a couple hours.
I'd love to fill you all in on the last few days, but at this point, I'm just friggin tired. I've got tons of pics to share with you all, and lots of boring diatribe recounting the recent events of the previous days' events.
Ugh.. I just ashed my cigarette in my coffee... crap... I don't have time to make any more and there isnt' enough here in this hotel room anyway... so what's a little carbon gonna hurt?
On that note.. I love you all, miss you all, and I'm gonna get off here before my idea for a nice "hi" post turns into a foul-mood rant that no one would want to read.
Night all.

I used to HATE this when I was growing up. When I would bring a girl home, a friend home, ANYONE home... if it was after 8:00 PM, Dad was invariably ALWAYS sitting around the house in his underwear. Luckily in this shot, he's at least wearing jeans.... See that "What in the hell are you doing boy?" look?...... *shudders*...

One last picture of Dad. This is probably the most appropriate picture I've ever taken of my father. The same glasses, same type of hat, same kind of T-Shirt (only ones with a pocket to hold his cigarettes and a pencil) and the same belt buckle he's had for over 40 years. And, of course, that's Tommie-Lynn... who is looking more and more like Hannah the older she gets.

What you're seeing there on the top left is a battery backup for the Voice Over Internet Phone system. Each of those black boxes is a battery. They weigh in at about 70-100 pounds each... making it a REAL fun challenge to find a shelf system capable of supporting their weight. By the way, if anyone calls trying to find me from VC3, that means it didn't work... then it fell... and probably crushed someone... so as far as you know, I've moved to Guatemala and taken up a career teaching underwater cucumber shaving.

Update. . . .
I talked to Tommy last night from his dad's house, they made really good time getting there (of course, since he got a speeding/seatbelt ticket), and took a lot of pictures along the way and at his dad's. I believe he stopped in Maggie Valley for a bit, and he said he brought me back a souvenir, so I'm curious as to what it is. The plans were for them to be up and have breakfast at 6 am (yes, I didn't think Tommy could be up that early), and get on the road. His dad was closer to their job site than he realized (I think), so today should be a productive day. I haven't talked to him yet today, so I don't know how that is going.
He wanted me to say hi to everyone from him, and that he misses us and will be home soon! And, to remind everyone of Sameena's party on Sunday, if everyone could chip in a few dollars to cover the cost of everything, and let either he or I know if you're coming.
Well, guess that's all for now, I know I'll talk to him at least once today, so I'll update everyone again once I talk to him. For now, everyone have a great day and I'll talk to ya soon!

All Alone. . . . .
For those of you that don't know, Tommy will be leaving early Wednesday am for Georgia until at least Friday night fairly late. He has to go to Gainesville and Waycross in this trip. Gainesville is outside of Atlanta, and Waycross is near the Florida border, so he'll spend more time on the road than actually working. He is hoping to stay with his dad when he goes to Gainesville. I'm sure if he has time he'll leave a post before he leaves, or at his first stop.
Well, Monday was our 6 mo. anniversary!! Tommy and I went to dinner with Tim and Claire, since she was heading to Currituck on Tues. Wouldn't you know that Tommy was able to surprise me with some of the prettiest red roses at dinner! We had been on the road all day, we had gone to Manteo to see his mom for Mother's Day on Sunday, and were coming back through Williamston to see my mom yesterday. Somehow or another he was able to talk to Tim about picking them up for me and bringing them to the restaurant. I get up to go to the salad bar (we were at Ruby Tuesday's), and Tim snuck outside to get them. He gave them to the hostess and told her to bring them to the table. When she brought them, she tried to hand them to Claire. (I thought they were for her since she was leaving the next day) SURPRISE! Tommy told the hostess they were mine! I never knew it was coming! I wanted to try and get a picture of them onto the blog, but Tommy's planning on taking the camera with him, and they may not be photogenic when he gets back. You'll just have to stop by the house if you want to see them! :)
Baby, I just wanted to say that the past 6 mos have been amazing, you have truly been one of the best things that I've ever had!!! I hope your trip goes well, and that you'll make it home soon! Have fun with your dad, bring me back pictures! Please BE CAREFUL driving, stop if you get too tired. I'll be here whenever you do make it home, but I want you back in one piece. :) I LOVE YOU!!!
Oh, and just to let everyone know, Friday is Tracy's bday, and they are having a little bit of a party at the OC, so come by if you're out and about. And Sunday around 5 pm, we are having a party at our house for Sameena's bday, which was last week. We decided to wait until this weekend to get Graduation and Mother's Day over first. I have to work at the bar that night, so I'll be around for a little while. Please come by if you can!
Well, that's all for now, I'm going to go crawl in bed next to the man I love and spend my last night beside him for a while. . . . . (I'm such a loser for being so sappy) :) Hopefully I'll catch you around!
PS, Bannaq, I'm sorry I forgot that you were a Mother and on the blog! Please forgive me! I hope you had a great weekend! :) Happy late Mother's Day!

For those of you that haven't, watch it, cuss me for asking you too, and then tell someone that you've watched it and watch the hilarity begin!
